In response to the brief I created, wrote, and illustrated a children’s story book about Ellie, a deaf girl who turns into a lion when she is ignored in an effort to be acknowledged.
I was inspired by my cousin, who is hard of hearing, and her struggles to communicate and connect with her peers at school.
Roar is a social story that helps younger children understand deafness and teaches them ways in which they can better communicate with others.
